Statues of the Twelve Apostles

The Apostle Peter

The statue of Saint Peter is one of a series of gilded wooden sculptures of the 12 apostles. They date from the 17th century and were executed in the workshop of Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Each one of them measures between 60-63 by 27-30 by 18-22 cm. They are housed in the sacristy of the Basilica of Saint Peter in Rome.
